What happens when you run?
You get that rush that comes with the endorphins that flood into your veins. You get hyper aware, your heart starts pumping faster and your pupils dilate.
Its all to do with being as aware as you can about your surroundings, gathering as much information as you can and moving as fast as you can.
When I started this, I wasn't really sure where I was going to go with the post. It was instinctive, I just did it. The thing was, we do that with running to. If something scares us, or a situation occurs like that, then the natural thing for us to do is flee. So we run.
The other natural thing we do when we are scared? Pray. Oddly enough, we pray.
Thats the other thing that is hard wired into us for us to do when we get in a really bad situation - ‘Please God, help me’. And when He does help us, we brush it off as ‘wow, that was good luck’, never realizing that the Creator of the Universe had our backs.
Think about it the next time that you pray. Please. Realize that luck doesn't really come into it. But God does.

Music is awesome. I have a song, by Desperation Band, called Overcome. It’s amazing.
‘I was afraid and insecure, but God helped me overcome.’ ‘I was complacent, but God helped me overcome.’ ‘I was empty, and wanting purpose, but God helped me overcome.’ ‘I was a follower, but God helped me overcome.’ ‘I was dependent on myself, but God helped me overcome.’ ‘I was trying to identify myself through the ways of the world, but God helped me overcome.’ ‘I was self centered, but God helped me overcome.’ ‘I was anxious and overwhelmed.’ ‘I was angry and confused.’ ‘I had a fear of failure.’ ‘I was lustful.’ ‘I was average in my walk.’ ‘I had no one that I could trust.’ ‘I wasn’t solid in my walk with Christ, but God helped me overcome.’ ‘But God helped me overcome.’ ‘I was insecure, but God helped me to overcome.’ ‘But God helped me overcome’ ‘But God helped me overcome’ ‘I was fearful of His call on my life, but He helped me overcome.’ ‘I was depressed.’ ‘I was a shy little girl who was afraid to talk about my faith in Christ.’ ‘I was consumed with pain.’ ‘I was afraid of rejection, but God helped me overcome.’ ‘But God helped me overcome.’ ‘But God helped me overcome.’ ‘But God helped me overcome.’ ‘But God helped me overcome.’ ‘But God helped me overcome.’ ‘But God helped me overcome.’
Overcome.
Thats a copy of some lyrics in that song, and its amazing. Absolutely amazing. And I realized this, as i lie in my bed at my grandparents house at 12.45 am on a sunday morning, that God does this.
It’s not something that He did in the past, in Acts, or the Gospels, or anything like that. It’s now. He does this now.
What do you need to overcome?
Think, cause there will be something. And pray.
God Bless, Icarus |

I wanna know, what life is like on the other side.
What is the other side that everyone talks about?
That amazing place where the grass is greener, the birds sing happier and the world is generally a better place?
Is it what you should be aiming for? Should you really be aiming for a place that, and lets be honest here, may not even exist?
Aim for heaven, and you’ll get earth, including that ‘place with greener grass’ thrown in. |

What do your eyes go to when you are walking down the street?
Is it the signage on the windows of the shops, that girl that’s walking down the other side of the street?
What do your eyes go to?
Who do you have eyes for?
There’s a song, Luke Thompson – ‘I Only Have Eyes For You’.
It’s the basis of this little thing that I'm doing today.
Try and keep your eyes only for God. It’s a challenge, and its not going to be easy for anyone, me or you, but try it.
And see what happens.
Especially when God’s eyes turn to you. |

I don’t have to hear it if I don’t want to.
It’s a motto echoed by thousands of people, all over the world. I don’t have to hear it if I don’t want to.
You may think that its just the Non Christians that do this, but really its every single one of us, even the ones who proclaim to be good, and Godly, and righteous, and near God, when really they are further away than you will ever know.
They claim they hear everything that God says – yet they never seem to act upon it. Its one thing to hear, what you actually have to do is put action to what God says, and its then that you will notice something amazing starting to happen and then that you will see the world unfold around you in the full light of God’s glory.
Its when you actually do something, when you put your money where your mouth is, that God moves. When you actually just do it, and trust God to have your back. That’s when you see God move. That’s when you see everything that He has for you.
That’s when you realise that when God’s talking to you, you really should listen. |
